Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve is an iconic outdoor coastal destination at the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. Our 250-hectare Reserve includes the world-renowned Kaiteriteri Beach, Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park, and Kaka Pa Historic Reserve. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing, Communications, and Events Manager to join our team and take our marketing efforts to the next level.

About the Role

About the Role The Marketing, Communications, and Events Manager is responsible for developing and delivering strategies to promote Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve, enhance visitor engagement, and ensure the success of events hosted at the Reserve.

This role encompasses marketing, brand management, public relations, and event planning while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and sustainability. You will oversee the entire event lifecycle, from concept development to execution and post-event evaluation. Additionally, you will manage our digital presence, marketing campaigns, sponsorships, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Marketing & Communications Develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies (social media, digital, email, print, signage, etc.). Maintain and enhance the KRR brand image across all channels. Analyse market trends and customer insights to refine marketing strategies. Manage content production, including press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials. Ensure brand-aligned messaging across all internal and external communications.
  • Digital Media Management Oversee the website, social media platforms, and email marketing. Optimise SEO strategies and website user experience. Analyse digital performance metrics to improve engagement and reach.
  • Sponsorship & Stakeholder Engagement Develop and manage sponsorship programmes. Foster relationships with businesses, concessionaires, and community groups. Support joint promotional initiatives with external partners.
  • Event Planning & Execution Plan, organise, and deliver successful events at Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve. Manage event logistics, safety, marketing, and stakeholder coordination. Develop sponsorship opportunities for events. Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement.
  • Supporting Businesses & Concessionaires Provide marketing and promotional support to businesses operating within the Reserve. Develop joint campaigns to enhance visibility for concessionaires.
  • Financial & Business Reporting Track marketing ROI and provide reports to the CEO. Contribute to the Reserve’s Annual Report with key marketing achievements.
  • Health & Safety Conduct risk assessments for marketing activities and events. Develop emergency response plans for events. Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
