Our fantastic On the Spot Store team, based right on the beachfront is in need of a Duty Manager.
Duty Manager – Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)
Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve | Gateway to Abel Tasman National Park
Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve (KRR) is one of Aotearoa’s most iconic coastal destinations. Sitting at the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park, we manage and protect 250 hectares of spectacular coastal land — including Kaiteriteri Beach, the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park and Kaka Pā Historic Reserve — while delivering outstanding visitor experiences year-round.
We’re now looking for a permanent, full-time Duty Manager to join our Store team and play a key role in our daily operations.
About the role
As Duty Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the Kaiteriteri On the Spot store, often in a sole-charge capacity. You’ll lead by example, ensuring excellent customer service, strong team culture, and full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Is already a qualified Duty Manager, or
- Has the ability and motivation to gain their Duty Manager qualification.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading daily store operations and setting high standards of service
- Ensuring alcohol, health & safety, and operational compliance at all times
- Supporting, guiding, and working alongside a passionate team
- Managing opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS systems
- Maintaining excellent presentation, merchandising, and stock control
- Building positive relationships with guests, suppliers, and wider Reserve teams
What we’re looking for
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience (retail or hospitality preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a calm, organised approach
- A customer-first mindset with great attention to detail
- Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work weekends and peak periods
